Kuka is a Brazilian brand specializing in the production of children's furniture and accessories. Their products are designed to combine safety, comfort, and style, focusing on meeting the needs of parents and children alike. Kuka’s mission is to deliver high-quality products that foster comfort and creativity in children's spaces, supporting the growth and development of families across Brazil.

The Design

The design process for the Kuka website was a collaborative effort that involved gathering insights about the users' needs and aligning them with Kuka's brand goals. By focusing on responsive design, clear navigation, and an aesthetically pleasing visual identity, I was able to create a website that not only reflects the brand’s values but also delivers a user-friendly experience. The final result is a website that enhances product discovery, builds trust, and provides a seamless shopping experience for parents seeking high-quality children's furniture.

Key aspects of the design included:

  • User-centered approach: The Kuka website was designed with a strong emphasis on usability, ensuring a seamless experience for both new and returning visitors. I conducted user research to better understand the target audience, which primarily consists of parents looking for safe, durable, and aesthetically pleasing furniture. This informed key design decisions, including intuitive navigation, minimalistic layouts, and product-focused features.

  • Visual Identity and Aesthetics:The visual design was guided by Kuka’s brand book, ensuring consistency with the company's established identity across all touchpoints. I adapted elements from their existing packaging design to the website, maintaining a cohesive look and feel between physical products and the digital platform. Soft, warm colors evoke a sense of trust and comfort, while playful elements reflect Kuka’s child-centered focus. The typography and visual hierarchy were carefully chosen to be both friendly and highly readable, emphasizing product descriptions and creating a user-centric experience.

  • Responsive Design: Given the diverse range of users accessing the website on different devices, I focused heavily on creating a responsive design. The site adapts seamlessly to both desktop and mobile platforms, ensuring consistency in appearance and functionality across all screen sizes. Key UI components, such as buttons, menus, and image galleries, were optimized for touch interaction on mobile devices.

  • Product Showcasing: The website includes an organized product catalog where users can easily browse through Kuka's offerings. High-quality images, interactive galleries, and detailed product descriptions are integrated into the design to allow users to make informed purchasing decisions. I utilized white space effectively to keep the focus on the products while maintaining a clean and uncluttered interface.

  • Navigation and Userflow: The navigation is designed to be simple, allowing users to find relevant information quickly. Categories are clearly labeled, and I incorporated a persistent top navigation bar for ease of access. The flow from homepage to checkout was streamlined to reduce friction in the user journey, with clear calls to action that guide users toward purchasing or learning more about the products.
